  • What's AVL?
  • AVL: Automatic Vehicle Location. AVL combines a GPS receiver with a wireless radio for providing location of a vehicle in a GPS and fleet management application like Fleet Freedom®. The AVL is typically installed inside a vehicle. There are GPS receivers in the AVL that signal continually and compute the current position of the vehicle. The transmitter in the AVL periodically transmits the location of the vehicle to a Network Operations Center (NOC). The data usually travels through the Internet and is shown in an application.

  • How will my productivity increase with this system?

  • What is needed to access the application?
  • All you need to access Fleet Freedom® is a modern web-browser, and a working internet connection. Supported browsers are as follows: * Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and 8 * Mozilla Firefox 2 and 3 * Opera 9 and newer * Apple Safari 3 and newer * Google Chrome
  • How many tracking units can be used at one time?
  • There is no restriction on how many tracking units you can use at any one given time.
  • How many people can have login access to my vehicles?
  • Any number of people that you wish can have login access to your vehicles.
  • What is a wireless fleet management solution?
  • It enables companies to locate their vehicles and any mobile assets on mapping software in real-time.
  • Can I manage handsets, vehicles and assets all at the same time?
  • Handsets, vehicles and Assets are all easily managed at the same time, in real-time in Fleet Freedom®.
  • Do I have to pay a licensing fee for use of the application?
  • Trak iT™ Charges a hosting fee for use of Fleet Freedom®. This includes all licenses. No additional licenses are needed for purchase by you.

  • What type of warranty do I have on the modems?
  • The modems have a one-year manufacturer's warranty. For full warranty information please contact the hardware manufacturer's technical support department.
  • What happens if my vehicles roam into another country?
  • Your cellular service provider has roaming agreements with other service providers across the border. Your service should not be disrupted when you cross the border. Fleet Freedom® is capable of showing you your vehicle regardless of where it is so long as the GPS modem has retained cellular signal. Roaming into other countries is only available with our Vehicle tracking service. For complete details on roaming options and rates please contact your cellular service provider.
  • Will my insurance costs go down if I implement this system?
  • Most of Trak iT™ clients enjoy an insurance discount after installing a Vehicle or Asset tracking solution with us. Discounts are at the sole discretion of your insurance provider and all inquiries as to such may be directed to your insurance company or broker.
